Private Residential
A Table That Layers Colour, Craft and Circular Design
At over four metres in length, this table is a striking centrepiece — a layered, sculptural form designed to anchor private residential communal space. Commissioned by Dodds & Shute, our design brings scale, character and material storytelling into sharp focus.
The colour palette was developed specifically for the project, blending warm, earthy tones — maroons, ochres, terracottas — in a fluid gradient reminiscent of geological strata. The surface is embedded with fragments of waste, including old CD and DVD cases, giving texture and nuance to each layer.
While plastic waste forms part of the composite, the piece combines multiple elements — each one poured, shaped and finished by hand in our workshop. The construction itself balances mass with elegance: angled legs introduce rhythm and stability, while a generous bullnose edge softens the table’s strong silhouette and adds a sense of tactility. Every curve was carefully considered — a reflection of our commitment to detail, no matter the scale.
This is a piece that invites conversation — about colour, craft, and the potential of waste when handled with care. It stands as a quiet but confident reminder that circular design can be both refined and radical.
