Eco-friendly awards designed to celebrate, surprise, and endure

Our partnership with Virgin Voyages goes far beyond furniture or sculpture—it’s about building enduring creative relationships. Over the past 10 years, we’ve collaborated across interiors, brand moments, and physical objects that reflect Virgin’s bold identity and deep commitment to sustainability.

Each year, we design and produce a unique set of eco-friendly awards to honour Virgin Voyages’ Crew and First Mates (their valued travel partners). These annual trophies may be small in scale, but their impact is lasting—crafted to celebrate individual achievement through design that holds meaning, memory and material consciousness.

The First Mate awards are designed in the shape of stylised octopus tentacles—an iconic reference to the large-scale sculptural tentacles we created for all four Virgin Voyages ships. These trophies sit proudly alongside the annual crew awards, which have featured waste streams as varied as broken toys, CDs, bottle tops, and reclaimed shell. With each iteration, we push the possibilities of reuse, storytelling, and identity through material.

The pieces are playful and highly considered. Made with the same care and creativity as a large installation, each award embodies Virgin’s design DNA—bold, unconventional, and always surprising. They’ve become a joyful, recurring part of our creative partnership and a way for us to express the brand in a tangible, lasting form.
