Mixed Waste Sculptures

Sculptural Product Design from Waste

These large-scale totems are a celebration of sculptural product design from waste—bold in form, rich in texture, and quietly intricate in material makeup. Each one is built from a patchwork of our most experimental composites, brought together to form a trio that’s both unified and distinct.

The pieces combine a variety of materials: pressed wood and cork, 100% recycled plastic, terrazzo-style shell composite, 3D-printed scallop waste, and bio-resin. Each surface carries its own visual language, its own tactility, and its own story of reuse. Together, they become something more than the sum of their parts—playful, graphic, and unmistakably crafted.

Originally created as part of our in-house exploration into sculptural product design from waste, they’ve since been acquired by Virgin Voyages to live on board their fourth ship, Brilliant Lady. Their presence on board reflects the brand’s commitment to bold, unconventional design—and aligns with our own belief that waste materials can be both functional and beautifully expressive.

For us, these totems are a kind of manifesto: proof that sculptural product design from waste doesn’t have to compromise on impact, scale, or storytelling. In fact, it’s exactly where those qualities come alive.

These pieces are part of our wider approach to sustainable art for hospitality, where materials, form, and narrative come together to tell a brand’s story more powerfully than words.
