Reworking the Past into the Present- Construction Waste Reuse
This set of bespoke side tables for &Soul tells a layered story—one of material reuse, colour sensitivity, and considered craft. When the Southhall location went through renovation, old floor tiles were removed and instead of being earmarked for landfill; they were sent to us.
We crushed the tiles and gave them new purpose—transforming the waste into rich, emerald green and white table tops. Each table in the set was handmade using a shared palette, but no two are identical. They’re a family, each with its own character, shaped by the natural flow of materials and our intentionally organic process.
Achieving this effect required rigorous colour matching and material testing to ensure that the tables felt visually cohesive while still honouring the organic, handmade nature of our work. The result is a quiet triumph of circular design—waste returned not just to the same building, but to a place of pride within it.
As with many of our projects, this one is rooted in client construction waste reuse – and that’s our favourite kind. Waste that just needs someone to see its potential. Thank you to Jasmine Fisher, &Soul’s Creative Director, for seeing that potential and for the collaboration!
